In Agia Eirini, a perfectly situated Byzantine-era square near many of the Greek capital’s major attractions and coolest bars and eateries, you will find Perianth Hotel a chic hotel with interiors that are inspired by the Athenian modern movement.
Perianth is a modern design hotel that combines simplistic elegance with contemporary art and modern furnishings. The interiors at the Perianth are ultra-sleek and modern. Think terrazzo floors, chic black marble, abstract art installations, and curvaceous walls.
The stunning premises is the brainchild of three siblings, Konstantinos, Anastasia and Alexandra Sgoumpopoulou, who joined forces with Greek star-designers K-Studio and renovated a 1930s building into a modern hotel featuring terrazzo floors, marble furniture, and glass brick, highlighting modern Greece.
The 38 intimate guest rooms and suites are done up in terrazzo floors, black-and-gray Pietra marble details, and ethereal pastel-colored upholstery and bedding. The 1930s building’s Bauhaus elements also inspired the staff uniforms, designed by homegrown fashion designer Sophia Kokosalaki.
Here you will also find works by contemporary Greek artists such as Yiannis Varelas, Antonakis, Margarita Myrogianni, and Maria Papadimitriou, which are on display in the public spaces and rooms, the best of which is the penthouse, with its striking views of the Acropolis.
The hotel also houses a cafe serving Mediterranean cuisine with influences from Greek gastronomy, which are served in a space covered in an abundance of white marble and Italian mirrors, and sits right beside a jaw-dropping bar where you can stylishly sip on a cocktail or two.
