Greek Paralympians fly out to compete at the Tokyo Paralympics

Greece's Paralympians are making their way to the Tokyo Paralympic Games, with the first first group of athletes flying out yesterday afternoon (17/8) with great fanfare.

Paralympians in swimming, fencing, cycling, table tennis and athletics, boarded the plane and from the 24th of August until September 5 will give their all in 11 sports.

"You have already won the big bet: to represent our country, Greece, on the other side of the world, to be there, to give your battle to your sport and let everyone see the coat of arms waving on your shirt " said the Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis, to the departing delegation.

Avgenakis has confirmed that he will travel to Tokyo in a few days to watch the Greek Paralympic squad.
