On Wednesday, the Three-Member Court of Zakynthos handed down a four year prison sentence without suspension and without the right of appeal for the charge of arson.
According to police sources, the individual started a fire on a plot of land in the village of Pantokratora, resulting in the burning of more than 2 acres of low vegetation.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and stopped the fire from reaching neighbouring properties.
The accused was taken to Korydallos prison on Thursday morning.
