A 25 year old man involved in an animal killing case, was arrested yesterday by police, in the municipality of Chalkidona in Thessaloniki.
According to the police investigation, the detainee attacked the dog with a sharp object in the early hours of August 20 resulting in the dog's death.
Authorities noted that during the investigations the 25 year old had refused to cooperate with the police and fled.
A case was filed against the detainee for disobedience and violation of the legislation on domestic and stray animals, while he was fined 30,900 euros related to the aforementioned legislation.
The 25 year old was taken to the Prosecutor of the Criminal Court of Thessaloniki.
