On Monday, a 55-year-old woman was beaten and stabbed to death by her partner in a suburb of eastern Thessaloniki, Northern Greece. It is the ninth femicide in the country since the beginning of 2021 and the third in August.
The body was found in a pool of blood in her apartment after neighbours reported screaming coming from the residence.
Neighbours told Alpha TV that the perpetrator came out to the balcony with blood in his hands and immediately fled the scene.
The police have launched a search against the 56-year-old Georgian national living in the victim’s apartment late last year.
The victim was of Georgian nationality also.
