Greek Model Afroditi Barba was arrested for drug trafficking

With multiple TV appearances and fashion shows, the well-known model Afroditi Barba famous for her stint on Greece's Next Top Model 2 was charged and taken away by police.

Media sources report that Greek police made a random stop on the car driven by the 31-year-old on Grigoriou Lambraki Street Glyfada.

After searching her Black Range Rover, the officers found 35 grams of cocaine under the in  driver’s seat. 

Afroditi was taken to Glyfada Police Station, where a case was filed against her for drug trafficking. Her vehicle was also confiscated.

According to sources, the illegal substance was divided into 35 nylon packages, leading the police to believe that her claim for personal use was unjustified.

In the statement she gave to the police of the Glyfada Security Department, the model claimed that she did not know anything about cocaine, and that could not justify how the drugs got under the seat of the jeep which she owns.

However, she was not convincing, and so charges were against her for trafficking.

The suspect will be taken before the prosecutor tomorrow to file her defence.

The model in her statements said she had been set up and did not know the drugs got into her car.
