Celtic are close to completing the transfer of Georgios Giakoumakis following successful negotiations in the Netherlands this week.
The Scottish Premiership club has been working on arranging a medical and work permit for the 26-year-old. The transfer agreement entitles VVV to a percentage of the striker's following transfer fee.
As Greek City Times reported last week, Ange Postecoglou has propelled Celtic's pursuit of Giakoumakis, explaining his plans for the centre-forward in virtual and face-to-face meetings.
Bundesliga side Werder Bremen were also keen on the Crete-born player but opted to turn their attention to other targets.
Giakoumakis scored 29 goals in 33 appearances last term and was the top scorer in the Dutch top flight.
