Canaries sensation Christos Tzolis to miss World Cup qualifiers against Kosovo and Sweden

The Greek National Team will definitely play without Christos Tzolis in September's three matches against Kosovo, Sweden and Switzerland.

The Thessaloniki-born winger has calf muscle problems after his dream debut with Norwich against Bournemouth and was left out of the match with Leicester, a fact that forces him to not play any football for the next 2-3 weeks.

Effectively it means Tzolis will miss out on World Cup qualifier matches with Kosovo (5/9) and Sweden (8/9), as well as a friendly on September 1 against Switzerland.

It is likely that Tzolis will miss out the Canaries next match in the Premier League against Arsenal on September 11.

The 19-year-old left PAOK to join Premier League club Norwich City on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Tzolis made an impressive debut for the Canaries on 24 August, as he scored a brace and assisted a further two goals, to help his team seal an emphatic 6–0 win over Bournemouth and progress to the third round of the EFL Cup.

He was voted man of the match for his performance.

Meanwhile, Norwich City full-back Dimitris Giannoulis said that he and Tzolis have settled into Norfolk life easily, although the weather is taking some getting used to.

“So far, so good and it’s really nice to be here,” he said. “The lads here are really good. You are really good, really kind and really friendly!"

"The way of life is totally different to the Greek way of life but I need to adapt, as does Christos from now on and I think we will be fine.

“I haven’t got used to the weather yet though, it’s the most difficult part to be honest!

“I have some friends here from before Christos arrived because I’ve been here for eight months, but I used to play with Christos back in Greece on the same side, which is important.

"I know him well, he knows me and I’m really happy to be here.

“When I heard that he was about to come here, I called him immediately to tell him to come!

“He will be there to score many goals, get many assists and he will also help in the defence. I think he’s a great player.”
