COVID-19: 3,064 new cases in Greece on Saturday, 35 deaths

Greece confirmed 3,064 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, with 28 identified at entry points to the country, the National Public Health Organisation (EODY) said on Saturday.

Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 579,734 infections (daily change: +0.5 pct). In the confirmed cases of the last seven days, 219 infections are related to travel from abroad and 1,796 to other confirmed cases.

There were also 35 deaths from Covid-19 recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of pandemic victims in Greece to 13,599. Of these, 95.3 pct had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.

A total of 333 patients were on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age was 64 years old and 82.8 pct had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over. In total, 2,960 patients had been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.

In addition, 279 COVID-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: 12.5 pct).

The average daily admission of patients with COVID-19 to hospitals over the last seven days was 263.

The median age of Covid-19 cases is 39 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
