Israel approves booster shots for 12 year olds and over who are fully vaccinated

Israel has approved the use of booster vaccination shots for Covid-19 for the fully vaccinated, whilst also lowering the entitlement age to 12.

"From today, a booster dose of the vaccine will be available to everyone," said Health Ministry Director General Hachmann As, referring to the Pfizer vaccine.

It is recalled that commencement of the third booster shot was made on July 30 for fully vaccinated persons 60 years and older. Over the next period, the ages that could be included in the program were constantly decreasing, while just five days ago, the green light was given to all persons 30 years and older who have taken the second dose at least five months ago.

About 2 million people - that is, more than 20% of the country's approximately 9 million people - have received the third booster shot.
