Greek Australian boy stabbed two charged

Detectives have charged two people following an alleged armed robbery in Ashburton, Victoria Australia yesterday.

It is alleged a 16-year-old Glen Iris boy of Greek descent was approached on High Street around 2 pm.

One of the men allegedly attempted to grab the boy’s bag then assaulted him with a sharp object.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 16-year-old Balwyn North boy has been charged with armed robbery, intentionally cause injury, assault with a weapon and other offences.

He was remanded to appear before a Children’s Court at a later date.

An 18-year-old Ashburton man has since been charged with robbery and an attempt to obtain property by deception.

He was bailed to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 16 February 2022.
