President Sakellaropoulou: Afghanistan leaders must respect womens' rights

Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou joined in an appeal by women leaders throughout the world for the continuation and promotion of equal rights and opportunities for girls and women in Afghanistan.

The appeal was addressed to those that are in power now and in the future in Afghanistan, asking them to avoid any kind of violence against girls and women and to support and promote their rights.

The appeal was an initiative launched by the President of Slovakia Zuzana Caputova and Iceland's Prime Minsiter Katrin Jakobsdottir and has been signed by the President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili, the Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, the Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas, the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Simonyte, the President of Moldova Maia Sandu, the Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg and the Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin, in addition to Sakellaropoulou.
