Third vaccine dose for immunocompromised patients available as of September 14

Immunocompromised patients can book appointments online for a third dose of a coronavirus vaccine as of Tuesday, September 14, Primary Health Care Secretary General Marios Themistocleous said on Monday during a regular briefing.

This concerns some 285,000 people in Greece, noted the health official, who will receive a text message alerting them to the fact on September 13.

A mass increase in coronavirus infections among 12-17-year-olds is currently registering ahead of schools reopening on September 13, Greek National Vaccination Committee chair Marios Theodoridou said at the briefing.

She urged for the thorough inoculation of this specific age group against a further dispersal of the Delta variant in the community.

People over 60 and workers at day-care centers for the elderly will be next to receive a third dose of the coronavirus vaccine, after immunocompromised patients, she noted.
