The Greek government announced that all school students of all grades can claim their their free self-diagnostic coronavirus tests as of Wednesday through to Friday, 17 September.
Students will be able to secure their self-test kits from any pharmacy across the country.
The news comes as school students who are not vaccinated are now required to undergo twice-weekly self-testing on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Vaccinated students do not need to observe this directive.
Schools are opening on Monday, September 13.
In the last 24 hours, Greece has confirmed 2,807 new coronavirus infections with a confirmed total of 605,158 infections since the pandemic began.
There are also 38 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of pandemic victims to 13,971. Of these, 95.4% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
