COVID-19: 1,319 new cases in Greece on Sunday, 28 deaths

Greece confirmed 1,319 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, with 17 identified at entry points to the country, the National Public Health Organisation (EODY) said on Sunday.

Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 615,157 infections (daily change: +0.2 pct).

Of the confirmed cases of the last seven days, 188 are related to travel from abroad and 3,002 to other confirmed cases.

COVID-19 coronavirus testingThere were also 28 deaths from COVID-19 recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of pandemic victims in Greece to 14,169.

Of these, 95.4 pct had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.

A total of 378 patients were on ventilators in hospitals.

Their median age was 64 years old and 81.2 pct had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.

In total, 3,043 patients had been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.

In addition, 220 COVID-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours.

The average daily admission of patients with COVID-19 to hospitals over the last seven days was 208.

The median age of COVID-19 cases is 39 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
