Greek Canadians busted selling 'fake' cocaine to tourists on Crete

A Greek Canadian couple have been arrested on the island of Crete after they were bused scamming tourists by selling them a white powder pretending it was cocaine.

The couple, a 55 year old and the 61 year old arrived in the area of Malia a month ago where they began selling the powder at 70 euros per gram.

According to KRITI TV,  the couple were eventually busted with police discovering 800 grams of the substance in their luggage just as they were preparing to leave Crete and possibly continue their activities in Ibiza, Spain.

Subsequent to further investigation, police confirmed that the white powder being sold was xylocaine, a known local anesthetic.
