Greece would have invaded western Turkey had military coup succeeded: Turkish Admiral

Share

The creator of the "Blue Homeland" doctrine and instigator of the Turkish-Libyan memorandum, former Chief of the General Staff,  Admiral Jihad Yaici accused Greece of the intention to invade western Turkey had the military coup against Erdogan in July 2016 succeeded.

The former Admiral made the outrageous comments two days ago during a tv appearance on Ulusal Kanal.

"On July 15, 2016, they (the Greeks) in the context of the Great Idea, together with the members of FETO, would have invaded western Turkey." said Jihad Yaycı.

During his TV appearance the former Admiral claimed there were no real problems between Turkey and Greece, but only the demands of Greece are problematic.

Yaici stressed that the 23 islands in the Aegean were ceded to Greece under the Paris and Lausanne agreements, on the condition that they be demilitarised.

Consequently, Greece, by equipping and militarising these islands, abolished with its own hands this condition of surrender of its sovereignty.
