AEGEAN: 22 Turkish fighter jets violating Greek airspace chased out by Greek pilots

At a time when Turkey claims to want dialogue with Greece, 22 Turkish fighter jets committed 17 violations in the northeastern Aegean according to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS).

According to HNDGS, Greek fighters were immediately dispatched and intercepted the Turkish F-16 jets with 7 engagements recorded.

It should be noted that Turkish forces are currently participating in the aeronautical exercise Kararlılık-2021 (Stability) in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.

According to Hellenic National Defence General Staff  data, six of the Turkish aircraft  were armed.

It is  reported that there were also 12 incidents where Turkish aircraft violated FIR  Athens Air Traffic Rules.
