Greece's Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to meet the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of America, Elpidophoros tomorrow (24/9) in New York confirmed government sources.
According to the same sources, the Greek Prime Minister will also visit "Ground Zero" the site of the 9/11 attacks, and then be guided by the Archbishop to the Church of St. Nicholas, which recently reopened its gates.
However, the meeting comes in the wake of the negative reactions provoked by the presence of Elpidophoros at the inauguration of the Turkish centre in New York, culminating in the cancellation of the meeting with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis.
The Greek Prime Minister is scheduled to speak at the UN General Assembly on Friday 24 September.
