Acropolis site shut down for security reasons

Greece's Culture and Sports Ministry announced on Thursday the closure of the Acropolis site citing security reasons.

According to the announcement, the area will be closed to the general public on Saturday afternoon due to an EU event

Specifically, the site will shut down at 17:30 to the end of the day for security reasons, the ministry said.

The event is being coordinated by the General Secretariat of Sports.
