The Greek Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Greece contributes to the return of Internally Displaced People to areas liberated from ISIS terrorists.

"Greece actively supports the stabilisation of Middle East countries and the effort to address the devastating effects brought about by the activity of Daesh terrorist organisation," the statement said.

At the Ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh, which took place in Rome last June, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias made the commitment to fund programs for the rehabilitation of victims of the aforesaid terrorist organisation.

"As part of implementing this commitment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will contribute the sum of EUR 50,000 to the Funding Facility for Stabilization of the United Nations Development Program," the statement added.

The Funding Facility aims to restore basic services and provide conditions for the orderly return of internally displaced persons in areas of Iraq liberated from Daesh.

It is noted that Greece becomes the 29th country to contribute to this funding tool.
