Greece is Back on the Map: Greek PM Meets with Top U.S. CEOs

In what is considered to be a positive sign of progress and recovery for Greece, Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis has met with a number of leading United States CEOs including Bloomberg L.P. CEO Mike Bloomberg and  Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, as part of the government’s efforts to get the nation back on track.

The former mayor of New York City and CEO of world leading software company Bloomberg, tweeted his thanks to Mitsotakis’ for stopping by yesterday.

The billionaire proceeded to give Greece and the Greek economy a vote of confidence saying that Mitsotakis’ economic and competitive reform programme has encouraged global investors to return to Greece, calling this a good sign of progress and recovery.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis also met with Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla in New York.

According to government sources, the meeting examined the progress of Pfizer’s investments in Thessaloniki, with an emphasis on well-paid, highly skilled jobs that attract academics, including young Greeks who had gone abroad during the financial crisis.

Bourla said that the employees in Thessaloniki are engaged in demanding research programs, such as research in the technology of artificial intelligence.

The office of the Prime Minister of Greece tweeted, “We spoke with Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla about the progress of Pfizers investments that will attract scientific staff to Greece, including Greeks who had left the country to go abroad during the financial crisis.”
