Athens Airport: Delta Airlines brake problems during landing forces emergency response

An alarm was signaled at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport after a Delta Airlines plane was forced to land despite brake problems.

According to Mega TV, the Delta aircraft was flying from Atlanta to Athens and reported a brake problem to the control tower.

Specifically, the plane, with 248 people on board, had overheated brakes.

Firefighters and ambulance staff quickly rushed to the spot.

The plane, carrying 248 passengers, landed at 10:56 a.m. local time (0756 GMT) without any assistance in the form of special foam, as had been reported in some media. Everyone on the plane is OK.
