Turkey accuses the United States of sponsoring terrorists

By 2 years ago

Yesterday, for the third time in four days, Turkey's Defence Minister Hulusi Akar attacked the United States and accused them of supporting terrorist organizations, referring to the Kurds in northern Syria, f providing them with weapons and ammunition.

At the same time, he reiterated the Blue Homeland dogma, noting that Turkey is defending its interests in the wider region.

However, all eyes are in the impeding meeting with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with President Vladimir Putin in Sochi, where Erdogan is expected to announce further agreements with Russia, possibly including the purchase of  S-400 weapons systems.

On the other hand, if Erdogan's threats of purchasing the S-400 missile system are realised, it will cost him his relations with the United States, despite the efforts of the US government to cooperate with Turkey on a number of other issues.
