Greece's Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister for Greeks Abroad Andreas Katsaniotis represented the Greek prime minister at celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of Mexico's independence and had the opportunity to meet members of the Greek community in the country.
Katsaniotis informed representatives of the Greek community about Greek government initiatives in the area of education and referred them to the innovative platform staellinika.com, which was launched by the General Secretariat of Hellenes Abroad, with the contribution of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Center for Greek Studies of Simon Fraser University.
In Mexico City, Katsaniotis was received by President Andrés Manuel López Odrador and met separately with his counterpart Carmen Moreno Toscano, Culture Minister Alejandra Frausto Guerrero, Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum and several ministers and representatives of other countries.
