Greek anarchist group Rouvikonas' (Rubicon) threw flyers and also raised a banner near the home of President Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Wednesday evening, the Greek Police reported.
According to reports all fifteen individuals involved were detained by police and taken to the Attica Police Directorate for identification.
It should be noted the same group last year had sprayed graffiti on the walls of the home of Australia's Ambassador to Greece, Arthur Spyrou’ in Psychiko, in demonstration to the fires affecting Australia for nearly two months.
Later, they posted about their ‘protest’ on athens.indymedia.org, stating that “at a time when the planet already has a negative sustainability balance, an unprecedented fire destroys everything living over 40 million square metres of land in Australia. Once again the sun has darkened in Oceania.”
“If we do not defend our country, no one will. The more the monster of capitalism develops, the more necessary the struggle for land and freedom will be,” the post concluded.
