New provocative statements were made by Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar against Greece.
The Turkish minister, a few hours after the ratification of the Greek-French military agreement, said that that some Greek politicians with aggressive rhetoric are trying to increase tensions and should know that their efforts are futile.
"Greece can never gain an advantage over Turkey," he said.
Akar reiterated that "we will not allow Nautical Geo research in the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone."
Greece and France signed a mutual defence deal that will see both countries go to each others immediate aid if they are attacked, even by a fellow NATO member.
