FAKE NEWS: Newtown's Father Nektarios safe at home with COVID-19 diagnosis

The much-beloved Father Nektarios of St Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in the Sydney suburb of Newtown is ill with COVID-19 but is self-isolating at home.

Fake news emerged that Father Nektarios was admitted to RPA hospital, but Greek City Times can confirm that he is resting and is in good spirits after being diagnosed with COVID-19 after the Sunday service.

Unfortunately, though, Newtown Greek Orthodox Church will remain shut for 15 days, as well as the soup kitchen that services hundreds of homeless people every day.

All close contacts are self-isolating and are being tested.
