A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck  south-southeast of Crete at 12:24, causing disturbance once again to the inhabitants of the island, and even collapsed a church.

The vibration was particularly felt in Heraklion, as it had intensity and duration, resulting in panic and anxiety among the residents, who took to the streets, parks and squares.

At the same time, school principals asked the students to leave the classrooms.

At 12:36, another earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck 9 km southeast of Zakros, with a focal depth of 20.7 km.

Under pressure from the tremors, the Agios Nikolaos Church in Xirokampos, Sitia, collapsed.

As can be seen in the photos from Creta Live, the small church could not withstand the strong earthquake.
