Mitsotakis receives third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis

The third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine was given to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who went to the Prometheus vaccination centre.

Mitsotakis asked people to do the third dose, while he also called on those who have not been vaccinated to hurry to book their appointments.

"I have just completed the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, following the instructions of the experts," Mitsotakis said.

"I would ask everyone to do the same, either with the third dose or primarily with regard to those who have not yet been vaccinated, because now the data is so emphatic that it does not allow any doubt as to the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine.

"Nine out of ten of our fellow citizens who are still intubated today are unvaccinated and a very large number of our fellow citizens who lose their lives every day are also unvaccinated.

"Let us finally listen to the scientists. Let's look at the real data. Let us all hurry to be vaccinated in order to further increase the vaccination rates in our country as a whole."

After the vaccination, Mitsotakis had a short conversation with the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Evangelos Tournas, and the Secretary General of Civil Protection Vassilis Papageorgiou.

The conversation was in preparation of the intense weather phenomena that are expected in the coming days.
