Kastellorizo was the only dry spot in Greece on Friday

Nearly all automated precipitation stations in Greece registered rainfall on Friday, with the exception of Kastellorizo the National Observatory of Athens and its METEO service said.

Of the 414 stations on its network, 413 recorded rainfall. The sole exception was on the SE Aegean border island of Kastellorizo.

The weather network covers all of Greece and registers all key parameters.

According to the data on the 'Ballos' weather phenomenon that continues, the areas with the greatest volume of water on Friday were Amaliada, West Peloponnese (121mm), Thassos island in the north (78mm), Pyrgos Ilias, in West Peloponnese (77mm) and Vatopedi on Mt Athos (70mm).

Thursday's rainfall was more severe, dumping several tons of water in Attica, where rainfall exceeded 140mm.
