Greece was distinguished as the top destination for Europe in 2021 (Europe’s Leading Destination 2021) at the international travel institution World Travel Awards.
Following the awards: Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias made the following statement:
"Greece well performed as regards the pandemic management and the implementation of medical and travel protocols."
"It proved that it is the most beautiful but also the safest destination.
"This international award for 2021 confirms that Greece offers high quality tourism and travel experience. Greece will have tourism in November as well, the professionals must prepare for a strong 2022."
The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to recognize and reward excellence in key areas of the tourism industry.
Today it is a well-known institution that is recognized worldwide as the ultimate trademark of the travel industry.
