Mitsotakis' visit to Riyadh confirms Greece's strategic relations with Saudi Arabia (video)

The significance of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' visit to Saudi Arabia was highlighted by government spokesperson Yiannis Economou during the press briefing on Tuesday.

The government spokesperson then referred to the prime minister's official visit to Riyadh, which began on Monday, saying that this "confirms and consolidates the strategic character of Greece's relations with Saudi Arabia."

"Yesterday he spoke at the summit of the 'Middle East Green Initiative', where he stressed the possibility of Greece developing into an energy hub for the transfer of clean energy to the European market.

Mitsotakis referred to the agreement with Egypt regarding the electricity interconnection with Greece, while at the same time he stressed that our country can be the natural entry point for liquefied natural gas and hydrogen, the spokesperson said.

He also said that the prime minister stressed that Greece as an EU member is committed to the goal of making Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 while the goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55 pct by 2030.
