A committee of expert advisors from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) yesterday voted in favor of approving the use of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine against Covid-19 for children aged 5 to 11 years.
Although the recommendations of this committee are only advisory, they are rarely not adopted by the FDA.
If the vaccine is approved for this age group, then approximately 28 million children will be eligible to be vaccinated in the United States.
