President Katerina Sakellaropoulou expressed Greece's commitment to strengthen strategic relations with Serbia and support its EU accession course during her meeting on Tuesday with visiting Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selaković.
During the meeting, which was held in the presence of Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, the excellent level of bilateral relations between the two countries and their growing potential was reaffirmed.
Sakellaropoulou reiterated that Greece strongly supports Serbia's EU accession course and reminded that EU's enlargement to the Western Balkans is a strategic goal, an adamant position that was first expressed at the Thessaloniki Summit in 2003.
Finally, the president thanked Selaković for his country's support during the previous summer's disastrous wildfires.
