An Hellenic Air Force Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 52+ crashed after take off the near Andravida Airbase in the Peloponnese this afternoon around 15:30. According to early reports from the scene, the pilot is safe as he successfully ejected from the plane.
The accident occurred during training exercises.
The latest updates show that the aircraft crashed during landing & not take-off. The aircraft is not destroyed. It is badly damaged from underneath. The landing gears are a total loss. Engineers from Hellenic Aerospace Industries will evaluate the damage tomorrow.
