200th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence exhibition in New Delhi

As part of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, the Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture and Development (ELINEPA) in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Greek Embassy in New Delhi are organising a painting exhibition and a series of cultural events in India to honour the memory of the heroes who fought in the liberation struggle from 1821 to 1829 against the Ottoman Empire for the independence of Greece.

Four contemporary Greek artists, Claire Tsalouchidis-Chatzimina, Frosso Vyzovitou, Lazaros Pantos and Pavlos Samios will present for the first time their works inspired by the Greek Revolution of 1821.

The opening of the exhibition will be made by the Ambassador of Greece Mr. Dionysios Kivetos and the General Director of ICCR Shri Dinesh Kumar Patnaik on November 21 at 4.00pm at BIKANER HOUSE between Pandara and Shahjahan road, India Gate, New Delhi.

The Hellenic-Indian Society of Culture and Development will be represented by Mrs. Yvonne Alexandridou, former Honorary Consul of India in Thessaloniki and main inspirer of the whole action.

The exhibition will remain open to the public with free admission from November 22 to 27, 2021, daily from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm. All safety protocols related to COVID-19 and the necessary sanitary measures will be observed.
