Shops will be open from 10:00 until 21:00 starting from Monday.

This is with the aim of avoiding congestion and to tie in with the introduction of staggered working hours in the public and private sector, the Development Ministry Secretary General for Commerce Sotiris Anagnostopoulos announced on Friday.

As Anagnostopoulos said, retail stores will be open from 10:00 until 21:00 throughout the week and those that are open for both vaccinated and unvaccinated customers, such as pharmacies, supermarkets and food shops, must also observe space restriction.

The current restrictions allow just one customer per 9 sqm to enter at any given time.

Asked what will apply in the case that the owner or the employees of a retail or entertainment business are unvaccinated, Anagnostopoulos underlined that they are obliged to pay for a laboratory COVID-19 test.

The use of a mask will be mandatory at all times and everyone in a business, including employees, will be subject to inspections in order to enter.

Finally, he said that inspections in the market will intensify.
