The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholemeos arrived at Athens International Airport a short while ago.

The Ecumenical Patriarch Lands in Athens

The Patriarch Mr Bartholomeos will pay a six-day official visit to Athens.

Panagiotatos was welcomed by the Sev. Metropolitan of Samos Mr Esebios, on behalf of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, and the Minister of National Defense of Greece Mr N. Panagiotopoulos, on behalf of the Greek Government at Athens airport.

The Ecumenical Patriarch visits Athens following an invitation of the Holy Church of Greece, to participate in the Feast Day of Theotokos which will be held tomorrow, at the Cathedral of Athens, as well as the anniversary of completing thirty years on the Ecumenical Throne.

Today, Saturday, in the afternoon, Panagiotatos will visit the Makariotatos Archbishop of Athens and all over Greece Mr Ieronymos.

During his stay, he will meet with the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister of Greece.
