Stefanos Tsitsipas may miss the first part of the season in 2022 after an elbow surgery

Stefanos Tsitsipas has been struggling with his elbow for a few months. The Greek sensation had to withdraw from his last 2 tournaments in Paris and Turin. Unfortunately, it has been revealed on Sunday in Turin that the world number 4 will most probably undergo surgery. According to Sky Sport, Stefanos contacted the same doctor who treated Novak Djokovic.

The Sky Sports commentators revealed:

“Today Team Tsitsipas reveal that Stefanos will very likely have to undergo surgery. He was visited by the same doctor who’s treated Djokovic’s elbow.”

Will Tsitsipas play the Australian Open?

If confirmed, it is highly unlikely that Stefanos Tsitsipas will play Australian Open. He may be out for up to 6 months.
