The Israeli thriller TV series, which was almost exclusively shot in Athens, won the 2021 International Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series.

“Tehran” was developed with the support of the Greek National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication (ΕΚΟΜΕ) and was released globally on Apple TV+ on September 2020. For the needs of the script, the Greek capital was transformed into Tehran to star in this gripping spy thriller.
The story is based on when a mossad agent goes undercover on her first mission in Iran's capital, which also happens to be the place of her birth; the mission has implications not just for the Middle East, but for the rest of the world.
