The delivery of 150,000 COVID-19 vaccines took place today in the Ghanian capital of Accra by Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias.

As he said, this is an expression of the solidarity of Greece to Ghana and its people.

"This is our contribution to help you tackle the coronavirus pandemic, which is common to all," the foreign minister said in a statement after the vaccines were delivered.

"If we do not share our resources globally, we will not be able to deal with it. I hope and I am sure that they will be used properly," he added.

Dendias handed over the vaccines to the secretaries-general of the Ghanaian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health.

"Greece is actively supporting Ghana in the fight against the pandemic," the Foreign Ministry said in a Twitter post.
