French luxury fashion house Dior has promoted the surreal beauty of Milos with a recent photoshoot and correlating video, captured on the Greek island as part of the presentation of its Grecian Cruise Collection 2022.
Designed by Italian Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Dior Cruise 2022 collection is inspired by classical Greece and ancient Greek mythology.
The House invited ten Greek photographers to offer their vision of the Dior Cruise collection and its capsules.
Entitled ‘Captivating Visions’, Greek photographers Mara Desipris, Christina Dimitriadis, Marilia Fotopoulou, Efi Gousi, Maria Koutroumpi, Dimitra Lazaridou, Ria Mort, Lia Nalbantidou, Ioanna Sakellaraki, and Olga Stefatou each produced an artistic dialogue designed to “further perpetuates the spirit and power of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s creations for Dior, conceived as a celebration of local craftsmanship and savoir-faire,” says Dior, encouraging brand enthusiasts to “discover the captivating beauty of these virtuoso interpretations.”
In the resulting interpretation by photographer Efi Gousi, the new clothes of the house are set against the beautiful Cycladic landscape of Milos a tribute both to femininity and to the timelessness of ancient beauty.
“In a subtle ode to sorority, Efi Gousi presents a magnetic duality in looks from the Dior 2022 Cruise collection, photographed in Milos,” says Dior on its website.
The accompanying video, "From Dior to Greece" created for custom Dior Magazine No.36 provides a transporting behind-the-scenes film of the different shoots allowing the audience to immerse itself in the atmosphere and inspirations of the Dior Cruise 2022 collection.
“Sporty silhouettes inspired by classical Greece and mythical female goddesses and divinities are captured against ancient ruins and the sea, with commentaries by the photographers who collaborated on the project,” says Dior.
