The news of the death of the Father Vassilios Dimitropoulos, who was a priest at the Church of Panagia Alexiotissis in Patras, caused sadness across the city.
The priest was suffering from COVID-19 and was treated at the Agios Andreas Hospital together with his son, also a priest, and his son's wife.
The 73-year-old priest, however, could not bear it and passed away.
According to Proto Thema, the priest was unvaccinated.
The deceased had a diverse work in the local church for a number of years, having created the chapel of St. Anne and the Spiritual Centre of the Holy Temple.
The priests three sons followed their father's path to priesthood too.
