Tsipras: Greeks deal with pandemic and high cost of living because of Mitsotakis

SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras said on Thursday when speaking from Kozani that Greece is facing two major issues, the pandemic and the high cost of living.

The main opposition leader criticised the government for both aspects and said "these are not results of a temporary confluence that was inevitable, they are results of choices or mistakes or omissions of the Mitsotakis government."

In terms of the pandemic, Tsipras said that Greece has 150 people on ventilators outside of intensive care units.

"This happens nowhere else" in Europe, he said, while on higher living expenses he added that most households and industries "run out of money in the third week of the month" after payday as obligations continue to add up.

"For this double trial, the Mitsotakis government is absolutely and largely responsible," Tsipras claimed.
