Why not buy your loved one a personalised Lambda Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil gift set that comes complete with a hand-crafted case that lovingly cradles a bottle of award-winning olive oil embellished with two 18k gold plates engraved with the recipient’s name?

It will set you back US$14,698, but who can put a price on love?

Lambda Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil is claiming the title of the most expensive olive oil in the world.

Produced by Speiron, an innovative Greek Luxury Food and Beverage Company, Lambda Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the world’s first luxury olive oil.

Called “The Champagne of the olive oil world” by The Independent; “The Chanel No.5 of olive oils” by Real News in Greece; “The Ferrari of olive oils” by Status magazine in Greece and “The Rolls Royce of olive oils” by Rassegna dell’ Imballaggio in Italy, this limited-production, award-winning Greek olive oil is favoured by celebrities and socialites worldwide for its pungent, fruity flavour and uniquely elegant presentation.

But what is it exactly that sets Speiron’s Lambda Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil apart from other luxury olive oil brands?

The company’s founder, Giorgos Kolliopoulos, is a self confessed perfectionist who studied the International Olive Council’s Organoleptic Assessment (tasting) Method of Virgin Olive Oil by the International Olive Council (IOC) in order to become an olive oil connoisseur.

He then he decided it was time to reinvent the product by offering an unparalleled olive oil experience that encompasses aroma, flavour, and the visual artistry of a sleek modern package with options for even more distinctive luxury.

Kolliopoulos founded Speiron in 2006, describing it as the first Luxury Food and Beverage company in Greece and one of the first worldwide.

Speiron calls itself “a Greek pioneering company dedicated in reinventing food in an unparalleled way. Our vision reflects a unique way to enjoy life,” says Speiron.

“Exclusive design stimulates exquisite quality; exceptional craftsmanship blends with unlimited purity; the smallest detail, noble and exceptional, refines what is elegance. As it is said, perfection lies in the details.”

On the market since 2007, the oil for Lambda EVOO is carefully extracted from selected olives handpicked from some of Greece’s oldest Koroneiki and Maroneia olive trees.

The unfiltered result of the cold extraction process undergoes repeated organoleptic and chemical analyses to ensure the most striking flavour and most desirable chemistry. This includes notably low acidity and a well-balanced blend with notes of artichoke, green tomato, almonds, and grass.

Lambda Ultra Premium EVOO is bottled and labelled by hand, without machines. It undergoes quality control at five stages, with eight individuals paying attention to every detail for each bottle. This enables high quality and avoidance of the oxidation that could spoil the oil’s wonderful flavour and health benefits.

If $14,698US is a little out of budget, there are a number of more economical gifts sets that are available such Lambda 100ml (3,4 fl.oz) offered in a handsewn leather pouch for €40,00 per bottle; Lambda 500ml (16,9 fl.oz) in a handsewn leather pouch for €70,00 per bottle and a more budget-friendly Lambda gift box option that includes one bottle of 500ml (16,9 fl.oz) at a price of €250,00 per box.
