Foreign Affairs Council to discuss EU’s next steps regarding Varosha

The 27 Foreign Ministers of the European Union will discuss the situation regarding the fenced-off area of Varosha and possible ways for the EU to react, during the morning session of Monday’s Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) in Brussels. The discussion will be conducted on the basis of the options paper prepared by the European External Action Service (EEAS).

An EU official that briefed the press on Friday had said that the FAC is not expected to take legally binding decisions, since the discussion will take place under the current affairs heading.
