Greece to strengthen global Hellenism and ties to diaspora Greeks

Andreas Katsaniotis

Greece’s Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for the Greeks Abroad Andreas Katsaniotis stressed the government’s priority in strengthening the ties of diaspora Greeks with the homeland, adding that the State must at all times be firmly by the side of Greeks all over the world.

Katsaniotis made the comments during an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Sunday adding that Greece is moving at all levels, based on a structured plan, in order to connect even more with its children who live beyond its borders and to integrate all Greeks, wherever they live, into the national body.

Stressing the importance of the role of the Greeks abroad, Katsaniotis referred to the diaspora community as a huge and precious national asset for Greece that “we have a debt and a goal to unite and mobilize for the promotion of our country.”

The Deputy Foreign Minister also made special mention of the “invaluable contribution of world Hellenism in creating an international shield against the growing Turkish aggression”.
