Europe’s system to allow hassle-free travel for people vaccinated against Covid-19 is at risk of breaking down after Italy and Greece imposed their own rules.
The unilateral restrictions, which require PCR tests for incoming travelers, represent another blow for the continent’s battered airlines just before the lucrative holiday season.
The Greek Ministry of Health, as part of the effort to control the coronavirus pandemic, Greece will required all travellers even vaccinated visitors from all countries to show a negative molecular control (PCR) taken within 48 hours of arrival to Greece.
Excluded from the measure are travelers who have stayed in another country for less than 48 hours.
The measure will take effect from Sunday 19 December at 6 am.
