Corfu inmates donate money to sick child accompanied with heartwarming messages

The mobilisation of inmates in Corfu was stirred by the news that a child is in danger of going blind and has to go abroad for specialised surgery.

According to ERT, the inmates collected the tokens they use for small purchases in the prison canteen to donate to the girl's treatment!

Greek and foreign inmates, many of them lifers, managed to raise 260 euros, an amount that for the closed society of prison is a small fortune!

Many of them will be deprived for a long time to even of the opportunity to drink a coffee.

Along with the money, many inmates wrote a letter, sketched drawings, sent their wishes and gave them through their teachers to the student's family.

"I ask God to give you the light in your eyes," one writes.

"I wish we knew how to paint what you see," writes another.
